haii jammers!
*quick note: this post was started sometime back in october, so if there's any past information on something just avoid that :")
EHEHEHHE I'M BACK
(that was scary, my apologies)
if the title is a bit confusing, today's post is going to be walking y'all through what i do when i put out TDI episodes C:
and to those who celebrate, happy heart day! whether you have a significant other, or are a single pringle like me, i hope you all have a great day and a fantastic week <3
i hope this post is interesting and entertaining enough.. i tried haha
let's get into the post!
Finding + Questioning
first up, i need to find a willing participant! this can definitely take a while, as we all lead separate lives and don't always check our Instagram DMs aha aha aHA
out of the 8 people i asked for Season 2, only 3 of them responded.
aT lEaSt wE gOt sOmE.
i did find it became a lot easier to ask jammers questions once i was recruited onto Animal Jam Archives, as they now had basically an obligation to talk to me 😀😀😀
the interview process is much easier when you know the person you're interviewing, but i'll walk through the steps i go through when it's an unfamiliar jammer c:
first off, i usually start by introducing myself, and then ask if it is okay for them to participate in a small interview. i think these are both helpful scenarios with many things in life as well; introducing yourself shows confidence and assurance, and asking permission is always generally respectful!
after they've agreed, i copy the questions i use (usually there are about 4-5) and patiently wait for a reply. it's a very patient process haha.. i've found the response times to vary between 3 hours and a week. (and i don't mean the amount of time it takes to respond, i mean the amount of time it takes them to see the questions 💀)
i will adjust the question amount depending on the length of the given responses, too. say a jammer responds with about 1 sentence per question, i'll quickly just add maybe 2 more. i think it just makes the post more entertaining to read :)
after the responses have been recorded, it's time for the...
"Uploading"
by uploading, i mean copying the answers into the post pfff. since i don't have my questions saved on my computer, i'll usually go to a past episode and just copy the questions from there. then, i'll do the same with the answers. finally, you just have to format, i process i hate very very much :D
it really doesn't sound bad, and if you look at it from a technical perspective it isn't, but it can definitely be time-consuming. i usually only have to change the font, the size, and the color, but it's an individual-paragraph thing, which is annoying.
Finalizing + Editing
aaaaand we've reached the last step(s)! once the formatting is done, i usually fix any grammatical or spelling errors, and then write the intro and outro of the post. this usually includes the jammer i've interviewed, a thanks for being a willing participant, and my "toodles!"
~~~
WOO. first post since my unannounced hiatus ! (once again, very very sorry) i hope this was interesting, and i have a couple of drafted interviews saved, so get ready for them C:
i hope you enjoy reading them as much as i do writing them.. i like hearing the varied responses, and different points of view from the jammers :]
anyways, i do feel i am out of my writer's block and i had a burst of around 4 ideas last night for some future posts, so let's hope i end up getting around to writing them! ':D
here is your teddy bear and flowers if you have yet to receive them: 💐🧸
wishing you all lots of loveee, and with that...
